Amna Shahid is a Pakistani Senior GIS Data Engineer and Environmental Sustainability Leader with 7+ years of international experience across GIS, geospatial technology, and remote sensing.

Her work brings together geospatial intelligence, technology, and environmental sustainability, using data and innovation to better understand our environment and support meaningful restoration efforts.

With expertise in GIS, drone and satellite data processing, spatial analysis, automation, LiDAR, remote sensing, 3D modelling, Digital Twins, Python, JavaScript, and spatial databases, Amna transforms complex geospatial data into actionable information for environmental and operational applications.

Throughout her career, she has contributed to environmental assessment, ecosystem monitoring, habitat mapping, and ecological restoration projects, working with drones, satellite imagery, LiDAR, and advanced geospatial technologies.

Amna currently serves as a Senior GIS Data Engineer in Abu Dhabi. Her professional journey has also included experience with organizations such as Amazon in Dubai, where she worked as a Geospatial Expert, along with the successful completion of 100+ GIS and Remote Sensing projects for international clients.

One of the areas closest to her current work is ecosystem restoration and monitoring. In her recent interview with GNSS in Dubai, Amna discussed how GIS, drones, LiDAR, and geospatial data can help identify restoration opportunities, monitor vegetation, and support ecological restoration.
